This mama has made fitness a priority for her second pregnancy and we are so excited to honor her just weeks for baby Brylee arrives! She shows up to class with Brooks ready to WERK! She also just completed a 5k with us and her family by her side. We are so lucky to have you a part of Our Village, Lyndsee!
1.What does motherhood mean to you?
Motherhood is a love that you can’t even fathom or describe until you have experienced it yourself. It’s basically the best thing ever. It’s not always pretty, or glamorous, or even fun for that matter but it is something that despite its challenges, I would never in a million years give up or change.
2.What are you doing to reach your fitness goals?
Currently, my fitness goals are basically nonexistent since getting out of bed each morning feels like a workout, but here in a few short weeks my goal will be to get back into shape and back to the point I was at before I got pregnant with Brylee. So there will be lots of workouts, that I hopefully will be on time to, and maybe, just maybe some clean eating but honestly probably not! I love my cupcakes and such so I’ll just have to workout extra hard to make up for it!
3.What has Fit4Mom BCS done for you?
Fit4Mom BCS has literally been a lifesaver for me! Before we joined stroller strides last summer, I was really struggling with my body image and basically had lost all identity of myself. My pre-baby self was pretty fit and active and competing in triathlons, running a half marathon, or even doing a Tough Mudder were all things that I could easily do on a whim with little to no training or thought about it. After what I thought was a “stressful” pregnancy with Brooks, and a year of momlife, I had basically given up on getting back to that point anytime soon but thank god for Sarah! She told me about Stroller Strides one day at Kindermusik and after being super jealous of her fit self we finally decided to try it! Needless to say, it was the best decision we have made in a long time! Within a few short months I had dropped all my baby weight and more and was finally back to feeling good about myself and the way I looked! I was totally loving being fit again and then boom baby two! Thank god I kept up with the workouts because a few short weeks after that we got confirmation that Brooks would indeed need surgery and key epic mommy meltdown. The next few months I feel like life spiraled out of control in basically every aspect but I was so thankful to our amazing village for always checking up on me and helping me to get through it. Yall were always an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on and literally one of my only forms of stress relief! We really struggled during our time away before and after surgery, but once the surgery was over and we finally got cleared to come back stroller strides saved me again! I finally got my head on straight and started to get back on track of my fit pregnancy and now here we are, just a few short weeks from Baby Brylee’s arrival! I honestly can say that without yall I really don’t know how I would have made it to this point but I thank God every day for yall and the amazing things yall do for us mommies!
4.What is your favorite exercise?
My favorite exercise would have to be stretching! Like the ones where you lay on the ground and just breathe, that counts right J But in all seriousness, I really enjoy all the partner exercises because it pushes me to work harder since there is someone else depending on me!
5.What is your proudest moment as a mom?
My proudest moment as a mom would have to be either the day Brooks was born, the day he said “Momma” for the first time, or really almost any day after that because just watching him grow, learn, and be Brooks is basically the highlight of my life!
6.What are three of your favorite things (besides your family!)?
Three of my favorite things are: Chuy’s happy hour, which I am super excited to reconnect with, the beach, and Amazon Prime/Target!
7.Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us or makes you unique.
Well I come from a very large mixed family, like one of 10 kids! Growing up was pretty much like the movie Cheaper by the Dozen but with step brothers and sisters. Lord knows how our parents survived!
8.If we asked your spouse what they think your best qualities are, what would they say?
He would probably say my love for Brooks is my best quality, though it doesn’t always work out in his favor since he usually takes a backseat to the tiny human but thankfully he knows I still love him too!
