She started Stroller Strides a few months after her first daughter was born. She quickly became a part of our village and always works hard with a smile on her face! She attended class through her second pregnancy and joined the double stroller club!
Paola will be moving back to Mexico this month and will be truly missed by everyone. We had to send her off right and honor this mama's dedication to self care!
1.What does motherhood mean to you?
Motherhood is the best gift God and life could give me.
Is that unconditional love, sacrifice, infinite patience, those kisses and hugs that cure everything. Especially for me motherhood and becoming a mother was a miracle !!! My first daughter was a surprise after 5 years of marriage and when I knew I was pregnant I thought: this is not real !!! That's why we usually call her : our sweet Unicorn. Today, I am a mom of two little girls: Mariette, she is 20 months and Melissa almost 4 months. I just can say gratefully that motherhood is real. God's times are perfect !!!
2.What are you doing to reach your fitness goals?
Omg !!! Running to move to another station after a strong and intense workout is deadly, but it is my goal every day !!! Run as much as I can to
Loose those flirty and sexy love handle that make me happy because I had my babies in my belly for 9 months, but it's time to get fit and continue eating healthy. With the same intense and infinite love that I love my daughters I love chocolate, so imagine the effort I must do to avoid eating that extra bar of calories and sugar. But always I finish eating my chocolate bar hahaha
3.What has Fit4Mom BCS done for you?
Fit4Mom BCS has saved me from many existential crises !!! is not easy to see how the body changes with pregnancy and how it is after childbirth. Fit4mom has made my body back , the same as before, I'm not in a hurry, I know it's part of a process. Thanks to fit4mom because I have become in a mother who enjoys exercising outdoors with her daughters. Fit4mom has changed my way of thinking, in this beautiful village. I learned that the perfect mom does not get angry, does not scold, does not get tired, does not scream, I mean, I learned that the perfect mom does not exist !!! Fit4mom gives me the opportunity every day to know that there are mothers who love their children, so I'm clear that I'm not a perfect mom but I love my daughters, I love my body and I love doing exercise with them.
4.What is your favorite exercise?
This is hilarious, whitout babies I loved the burpees, I used to concentrated so much on making them intense, but ahhh how things change ... now that I am a mother I have two favorite exercises: the plie squat and the plank. The wonderful Plie Squat and Calf Raise allows me to stand by in front of the stroller while I am feeding the smallest of my daughters. And on the other hand, the plank allows me to play with my oldest little girl when I take her out from the stroller, I can be a little pony or a bridge for her , this is so funny
5.What is your proudest moment as a mom?
Teaching my oldest daughter to breathe under the water. Watching her stand for a few minutes under the water, next to me in my arms and she was only 10 months. It was a very fun task that we practiced little by little in the bathtub and finally we can dive together in the bottom of the pool. Of course, Daddy was underwater at the bottom of the pool, ready to catch in a picture this beautiful and proud moment.Yay !!! It's something I also want to teach my youngest daughter in due time.
6.What are three of your favorite things (besides your family!)?
My 3 yorkshires, they are also my children.
The beach, I really enjoy those hours that I can be enjoying a sunny day at sea.
Chocolate dipped Strawberries
7.Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us or makes you unique.
Uhhh after I graduated from university I joined to work in an administrative area of Halliburton , in the oil and gas industry , and every single day I used to say: I do not want to be a Petroleum's Engineer Wife. Never say never , now you can see me I am the wife of a MCs in Petroleum Engineering by Texas A&M. Whoop!!!
And Of course this question makes me remember when I was 10, 12 years... I was a running and swimming competitor. I won many gold and silver medals.
Since I has memory I have been an animal lover. I picked up kittens from the street and adapted part of my closet to make them a house with a bed. I had a lovely white dove that slept next to my bed , her name was Cloud. In spanish her name was Nube ( she was free to fly but she grew up with me and every day in the afternoons I opened the house door because She came home to eat and sleep) I thank my parents so much for allow me to have so many animals growing up with me. My house in the city seemed like a farm: dogs, cats, a dove, a parakeets, turtles, one big green parrot and a couple of miniature fighting fowls (blondie and Milton were their names) . What a wonderful years without ipads and spinners toys.
