Ashley start Stroller Strides four years ago with her first baby. Since then she has attended Strides through her second pregnancy and is reaching her 500th Strides class at 39 weeks pregnant with number three!! This is the definition of a strong mama and such a blessing to our village!!
1.What does motherhood mean to you?
Motherhood is loving someone more than you ever knew possible. It's dealing with the good and the bad each day with more patience than you realized you had. It's the hugs, kisses, cries, laughs and fun you experience each day with your children. It can be so hard at times, but watching your children learn and do new things each day is the absolute best! No better feeling than being a momma!
2.What are you doing to reach your fitness goals?
Right now, at 39 weeks pregnant, my goal is to just keep moving as much as possible. I want to be as active as I can to stay strong for what will hopefully be a short labor.
3.What has Fit4Mom BCS done for you?
I've met most of my best friends at Stroller Strides over the last 4 years. My girls, especially my oldest, have also met their best friends from playing on the playground with the other kids each day after class. It's enabled me to lose the baby weight after each child and just helped me to feel so much better about myself. I also love that I'm teaching my girls the importance of being healthy and strong and taking care of our bodies. And they see that working out is actually fun and just a normal part of life. Joining Stroller Strides has seriously been one of the best decisions I've made since becoming a mom. Can't imagine my life without it!!
4.What is your favorite exercise?
Calf raises or squats. Both are non cardio exercises that I don't have to do many of to really feel the burn!
5.What is your proudest moment as a mom?
Having Izzy at home! I wanted a natural, drug free birth so bad with my first but after a long labor, didn't get it...which was totally fine in the end because she was healthy and that's all that really mattered! But to try again with my second and be able to not only have her drug free, but also at home, was such an amazing feeling! And I'll be hoping for the same with this baby! And of course my girls make me proud daily...whether it's how they interact with others or the sweet things they say and do.
6.What are three of your favorite things (besides your family!)?
Being outside...either hiking, swimming or just riding bikes with my family.
Going to the beach! I love being in the ocean and playing in the sand and finding seashells.
Napping...absolutely love cuddling with my girls to nap.
7.Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us or makes you unique.
I'm a vegetarian and been so for about 18 years now!
8.If we asked your spouse what they think your best qualities are, what would they say?
I asked...he said I'm pretty, a good mom and a very caring person.
